Internship Grants

The Mellon Museum Internship Program offers internship grants of $3500 to UVA students pursuing unpaid summer internships. 


$3500 Internship Grants for Underrepresented Students

These grants support current UVA students pursuing internships at museums, historic sites, archives, libraries, science museums, archaeological sites, etcStudents from ALL FIELDS OF STUDY are encouraged to apply.

The funds are intended to off set the cost of living or travel for students pursuing unpaid or underpaid internships. Eligible internships should be full time or approximately 300 hours over the course of the summer. 

ELIGIBILITY Current UVA students in good academic standing who identify as African American, Hispanic American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders, and/or individuals with disabilities. (Fourth Year students are ineligible.) 

The deadline for Internship Grants has passed. Information about Summer 2019 internships will be available in Fall 2018. 


$3500 Indigenous Studies Grants

These grants support students pursuing internships with a primary focus on Indigenous Studies, including but not limited to arts, archaeology, history, etc. Students from ALL FIELDS OF STUDY are encouraged to apply. 

The funds are intended to off set the cost of living or travel for students pursuing unpaid or underpaid internships. Eligible internships should be full time or approximately 300 hours over the course of the summer. 

ELIGIBILITY Current UVA students with a demonstrated interest in Indigenous Studies. (Fourth Year students are ineligible.) 

The deadline for Internship Grants has passed. Information about Summer 2019 internships will be available in Fall 2018.
